We finally finished our house remodeling and are so pleased with how the Kitchen turned out! We used 18″ Ubatuba granite, turned on the diagonal for our kitchen counters and island top. We used filled travertine on the floor of the living room, and had enough left over to make the backsplash. Our tile man, Ken Beauchamp, cut dots from the granite to sprinkle into the backsplash, and ground the curved edge of the granite to the shape of the island. Everyone who sees it says “this looks like a magazine cover”. For the outer edge of the counters, we used oak edge trim from Home Depot, which I stained to match our pecan cabinets.
