San Felipe in Jerusalem Light
A honed marble wall deco at 8 by 9 3/4, cut to the San Felipe outline in Jerusalem Light. Moderate variation between pieces means the beige moves noticeably, and a sample can be ordered before committing.
Design
Shape in a warm stone
Jerusalem Light is a warm beige with enough movement to be interesting and not so much that it competes with the outline of the piece. Honing keeps the face matte, which suits a shaped tile because reflection would blur the edge that defines it. Pieces run 3/8 inch thick and cover 0.37 square feet each. Marble tiles in this stone share the same warm tone. Shaped pieces also need their perimeter drawn before setting, because a cut outline at an edge reads as an accident where a cut square would not.
Warm ground
A beige stone rather than a grey or white one behind the shape.
Matte keeps the edge
Honing avoids reflection blurring the outline.

Residential interior floors
Residential interior floors is the recorded rating, with kitchen, bathroom and living room all listed as rooms. Coverage is 2.25 square feet a box, so a 60 square foot area would need 32 boxes, placing this as a panel or a border. Moderate variation means opening several boxes and mixing them as work proceeds. A panel of these usually sits better surrounded by a plain field than butted directly against another patterned surface.

Care
Seal after installation and reseal every one to two years. Marble marks where acid touches it, so cleaning stays with a pH neutral stone product and spills want attention quickly.
