Basket weave on a large sheet
Ponte Basket arrives as a honed marble mosaic on a sheet just under fifteen inches square, which is unusually large for this kind of work. Each sheet covers 1.52 square feet and six fill a box, giving 9.12 square feet.
Design
Fewer sheets, fewer seams
The larger the sheet, the fewer joins between sheets there are to disguise, and on a woven pattern those joins are exactly where a careless setter gives the game away. Silver Horizon is a white stone with slight variation, so the weave reads through shape rather than through colour contrast. Honing keeps it matte. A 1x12 flatiron trim is cut from the same stone. Marble also varies from block to block, so opening several boxes and mixing the sheets during setting keeps a lighter or darker run from gathering in one part of the floor.

Where to use it
Shower floors
Shower floors is what the record carries, bathroom the room. Eight boxes will cover 60 square feet with cutting allowed for. Woven patterns need their sheet joins planned, since a weave that jumps at a seam is the first thing anyone notices. As with any stone mosaic, adhesive has to reach the whole back of the sheet. Ordering a spare box is sensible on a woven pattern, because a later repair needs a sheet that continues the weave rather than one that merely matches in colour.

Care
Seal once installed, then every one to two years. Acid marks marble permanently, so nothing citrus or vinegar based, and a pH neutral stone cleaner for routine work.
