We are happy to offer our Rock Face Stone Sale to all our friends and clients. One thing we can do is explain a bit about what “rock face” actually means. So let’s try that out for a few minutes.
Natural stone is generally quarried from a mountain or ledge and comes out as a block of stone. Then, imagine that the block of stone is a loaf of bread. The bread is cut to manageable pieces or slices, correct? The block of stone also undergoes a similar process which yields large slabs of stone. These slabs can then be further cut down to tile and mosaic form.
The next step is the finish. We all are very familiar with a polished surface and the more or less reflective face it presents. Also, somewhat familiar is a honed face on a stone which is, in general, a matte finish.
Now for “rock face”. Think of this as having been “split” rather than “sliced”. Then you will notice the irregular finish and the varying thicknesses as shown above and below.
Well folks, there you have a few hints on “rock face” stone.
