Slate Trends
In this article, we’ll have a look at slate trends in 2020. Slate is a natural stone which is defined by Wikipedia as such:
“Fine-grained, foliated, homogeneous metamorphic rock derived from an original shale-type sedimentary rock composed of clay or volcanic ash through low-grade regional metamorphism” .
Slate has been a building material for thousands of years with usages both in exteriors and interiors. Some common colors have always been the grays, blacks, and greens so typical of garden, patio and paving applications. Today, let’s discuss a few slate trends.
Slate Tile Trends in 2020
Recently, Alyson McNutt English posted on HGTV.com a comment on slate saying that it is:
“Classic and Long Lasting” and “may not be new, but slate is a classic and sophisticated choice for kitchen flooring. For a kitchen with a neutral color palette, slate is a brilliant, long-lasting, and stylish choice”. Ms. English further stated that slate might serve “a double purpose” because it could easily continue “onto the kitchen patio, unifying the areas through flooring”.
The cottage.market.com says that the use of slate in kitchens is a great idea for anyone wanting a “comfy” kitchen. Since such a kitchen might use “many natural elements…the slate floor, wooden beams…butcher block counters and the heart of the room…the farmhouse table” all to achieve that design plan.
Freshome.com has told us that slate is in the top ten trending kitchen countertops by saying that
”slate has a naturally uneven surface that many find aesthetically appealing. Many find this particularly appealing as these naturally occurring dents make it hard to detect nicks and scratches that inevitably happen on well-used kitchen surfaces”!
